Today’s digital photography demands higher resolution, less
noise, and improved composition, all of which the Ixpress CF backs
provide. Ixpress CF backs provide digital capture with sensors more
than twice the physical size of today’s 35mm sensors. These
larger sensors hold more and larger pixels, which ensures the highest
possible image quality and moiré free color rendering without
gradation break-ups - in even the most subtly lit surfaces.
Optimum portability and image storage are critical for the professional
photographer and the Ixpress CF backs let you be as flexible
as you need to be, enabling you to choose freely between portable
CF card storage, flexible Firewire drives, or tethered operation
with extended, special capture controls. With these three options,
you can choose an operating and storage mode to suit the nature
of the work at hand, whether in the studio or on location.
In a studio environment you can increase the color resolution of
your captures by means of a unique multiple-exposure technique
controlled by the optional 4*Res module (patent pending). The
result is maximum resolution and absolutely moiré free
images. The Ixpress CF 132 can be upgraded with the 4*Res module
at any time. The Ixpress CF 528 comes with the 4*Res module already
built in.
The Ixpress CF is easily attached with a simple 4-screw attached
plate to most of the professional SLR and View Cameras of the
market. This simple compatibility allows you to bring optimal
digital capture to your existing cameras and lenses and with
the convenience of only using one digital back.
Hasselblad has worked closely with Adobe to make its new products
fully compatible with Adobe’s raw image format, DNG, bringing
this new technology standard to professional photographers for
the first time. The DNG file format enables raw, compressed image
files to be opened directly in Adobe PhotoShop, allowing you
to operate quickly and efficiently, reducing the “downtime” usually
taken to process image data, and enabling final images to reach
customers more quickly. Hasselblad image files now carry a full
set of metadata, including capture conditions, keywords and copyright,
making it a snap to work with image asset management solutions.
For specialist commercial photographers, the full productivity
and creative freedom offered by Hasselblad’s FlexColor
workflow software is also available when importing the DNG file.
Limitless digital image capture loses some of its potential if
you can’t quickly review and select the best images from
your shoot. Building on the success of its Audio Exposure Feedback
technology, Hasselblad is proud to introduce Instant Approval
Architecture (IAA), an enhanced set of feedback tools, designed
to allow you to focus on your shooting rather than the selection
process. IAA triggers audible and visible signals for each image
captured, immediately telling you whether the image has an approved,
rejected, or borderline status.
This is represented as a red, amber or green light and is recorded
both in the file and in the file name, providing a quick and easy
way to classify and select images, in the field or in the lab.
The larger, enhanced OLED display in the new Hasselblad products
provides a realistic, high quality and perfect contrast image view,
even in bright sunlight, to allow instant on-site image approval.
IAA is a Hasselblad trademark and is patent pending.
In the past, color management solutions have placed limitations
on professional digital photographers, particularly when it came
to capturing realistic skin tones, metals, fabrics, flowers,
and other subtly colored objects. To help you deal with this
challenge, Hasselblad has developed a powerful new color engine
in its FlexColor workflow software. FlexColor allows you to use
a single camera set up to produce reliable out-of-the-box color
without gradation, with skin tones and other difficult shades
accurately reproduced.
FlexColor enables you to create an image processing workflow that
gives you the highest degree of control for your studio photography.
In tethered operation, tools like live video and overlay masking
help bring productivity to advanced set composition. The newest
version of the FlexColor software enables you to manipulate color
temperature and compare image details across multiple images
for precise image selection. FlexColor uses the raw DNG files
generated by the Ixpress CF and runs on both Macintosh and Windows
computers. The software is licensed to allow you to provide free
copies for all your co-workers and production partners.
Naturally, as with all Hasselblad products, the new Ixpress CF
gives you access to the full range of Hasselblad service and
support, ensuring that your investment will last you a long time
to come. And the latest firmware updates to your H-system back
are always just a download away.
