  The large format light channel provided by the H3DII and the H System lenses enables the use of the largest image sensors currently available – 48x36 mm - more than twice the size of even the largest 35mm camera sensors. These sensors hold more and larger pixels, ensuring ultra sharp images without gradation break-ups in even the finest lit surfaces.
  
  The H3DII-39 features Kodak’s 39 Mpixel sensor, measuring 36×48mm, twice the physical size of the largest 35mm DSLR sensors. Basic ISO rating is from ISO 50 to ISO 400. Using the H3DII-39 with Hasselblad’s Phocus software, the ISO can be bumped further to ISO 800. As with its fellow H3DII models, the H3DII-39 makes use of a new high speed capture architecture capturing full size, compressed 65 Mbyte images at the rate of 2 seconds per capture, working either mobile or tethered to a computer.

  Hasselblad’s global image locator (GIL) is an accessory to any H-based Hasselblad digital capture product. Using the GIL device all images captured outside are tagged with GPS coordinates, time and altitute. This data is key to a number of future applications involving image archiving and retrieval. One example is the direct mapping of images within the coming Phocus software to google Earth.
