- The Ikelite compact digital housing is molded of corrosion free, virtually indestructible clear polycarbonate. An unobstructed view of the main o-ring provides assurance that the case is sealed properly. Its heavy duty walls allow it to operate safely to 200ft (60m).
- All functions of the camera are accessible through the housing except the print button. A flash diffuser is included to aid in improving lighting quality when the camera's built-in flash is used to illuminate subjects underwater.
- Removable external color filters #6441.32 for tropical blue water and #6441.72 for green water settings provide color correction in sunny conditions up to approximately 80ft (24m). For use without a flash. Filters sold separately.
- An external port adapter is required for the use of accessory wide-angle and close-up lenses. Order the #9306.81 for use with 67mm threaded lenses such as the Ikelite W-20, Inon Type II, and Epoque lenses. Please note that these lenses may exhibit slight vignetting when used with this camera. The #9306.80 adapter for bayonet mount lenses is not recommended for this housing due to extreme vignetting.
- For optimum lighting underwater an optional external strobe (flash) is recommended. Ikelite strobes are brighter, recycle faster and offer wider coverage than the camera's flash. Being farther from the camera lens, the strobe aids in reducing the illumination of particles in the water which helps to eliminate backscatter.
- External Underwater Strobes.
Positioning a flash farther from the camera's lens and at an angle reduces the illumination of particles in the water. Ikelite strobes provide much more power and a wider angle of coverage than the camera's built-in flash. Quick recycle times mean that they are always ready for the next shot. Available in several affordable packages that provide everything you need for the best results in all conditions.
