Within the many respected Nikon product lines, the PROSTAFF name is synonymous with dependable, rugged optical tools engineered to enhance every outdoor experience. The PROSTAFF 5 binocular line lives up to its name with fully multicoated optical system, multi-click, turn-and-slide rubber eyecups, long eye relief, waterproof/fogproof performance and a lightweight and rugged, yet sleek and comfortable body.
One of the best features of the PROSTAFF 5 binocular is that all of the lenses are fully multicoated coated. This is what ensures that the colors you see are rich and true to life, such as deeper blues and vibrant reds. Another advantage of have a binocular with Nikon’s multilayer coatings is that the higher light transmittance results in a clearer picture, giving you a more detailed image of that eagle nesting on a treetop or of the deer on that next ridge. Nikon also uses lead and arsenic free Eco-glass, guaranteeing that they are safe for the environment.
The PROSTAFF 5’s long eye-relief ensures a sufficient space between the user’s eye and the binocular’s eyepiece lenses to make them comfortable for everyone, even for those wearing eyeglasses. The multi-click turn-and-slide rubber eyecups make it easy to find the correct eye positioning to see the full field of view.
Thanks to a fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate resin, the PROSTAFF 5 is light enough to take anywhere and strong enough to be trusted on even the more extreme adventures.
Because it’s Nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed, the PROSTAFF 5 is waterproof and fogproof, giving you peace of mind that your optic will hold up in any weather conditions.

Canon's series of image stabilized binoculars deliver outstanding optical performance and stabilization capabilities at a very affordable price. Whether upon the water's edge or high in the catacombs of a stadium, you'll get a close view of action with this well-contoured Canon offering. A textured rubber coating provides a sure grip as well as a bit of protection from the elements, while the center-mounted focus and stabilizer controls are easily accessible for both hands.
The revised edition of their 12x36 model has dramatically decreased the bulk and weight of the unit. The drawbacks are that it no longer accepts 43mm filters and the minimum focusing distance has been lengthened.
The Canon 15x50 IS Binocular delivers truly outstanding optical performance and a well-stabilized, high-magnification view. Whether upon the water's edge or high in the upper deck of a stadium, the 15x50 IS will put you right in the middle of the action. The 15x50 IS binocular's great for big game hunters, spectators of the more distant sports such as surfing, or anyone with a hunkering for incredible pulling power which can actually be observed without a tripod. It is a water resistant design with a tripod socket, to allow for easy mounting to tripods or monopods for extended periods of observation.
The 15x50 IS was not designed to be habitually worn around the neck, but if you prefer to carry your optic in this manner then consider a thick neoprene strap instead of the supplied flat woven strap. If you'll be using the binocular in cold weather, it ishighly recommended to use lithium batteries instead of alkaline.
The 15x50 IS is threaded to accept 58mm filters, which is convenient for using polarizers around water, but it also means that during extremely bright or humid conditions you can use a pair of 58mm lens hoods to help shield the objective lenses from dew and stray light (and thus improve contrast).
