The top of Manfrotto's new line of ball heads! Made in die-cast aluminum with a precision phenol resin ball, the 490's features make it versatile and ideal for digital and traditional photographic equipment from 35mm to 8" x 10" format up to 26.4 lbs in weight.

Separate locks on 360° pan and +90°-90° tilt movements, with an additional friction control on the ball movement, gives just the right resistance and smoothness with minimum effort, even when varying weights of equipment.

The 490 Maxi Ball Head attaches to the camera via a 2" platform with a combined 1/4-20" and 3/8" male thread.
