Canon 300D housing

I am going on a trip in 2 weeks and the housing I would like for my camera is not shipping until next month (aquatica) I am thinking of temp going with an EWA-marine U-axp. Do these take reasonable pictures with a boot flash. Would I be able to take better pictures if I also use a 105 as a slave?
