Once again, ditto what ChrisS said.
Rarely do you need manual focus with AF wide angle lenses due to the accuracy of AF and the extreme depth-of-field of that focal length. Even manual wide angle SLR lenses are often prefocused like the Nikonos 15mm, relying on depth-of-field. And that 20mm behind the 8" dome will give you an equivalent angle of view to a Nikonos 15mm.
