The Epoque ES-150DS Alfa is a high-performance underwater strobe light that is designed to be compatible with most cameras. The automatic pre-flash function will adjust for most digital or film cameras.
The camera strobe flash has a variable power output for precision manual manipulation of light. For most point & shoot digital cameras the built-in slave or a fiber optic cable will fire the strobe when the camera's on-board flash fires. For more advanced cameras with a hot shoe the strobe will fire with a 5 pin Nikonos sync cord.
Camera strobe flashes are extremely important for your underwater imaging system. The ocean is one big, blue filter. As you descend, the reds and oranges quickly become muted shades of blue and gray. Firing a color corrected strobe light on your subject will bring back your subject's natural color. With a recycle time of approximately four seconds, a 80 x 100° beam angle and a guide number that varies from 3 to 15, this strobe will help you to produce stunning underwater photographs.
