The Meade 130mm ED Triplet APO Refractor Telescope is a true triplet apochromatic 910mm f/7 refractor that delivers crisp wide-field astro-imaging and observing. Featuring Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass and a 5" aperture, the 130mm ED Triplet APO is an excellent choice for astrophotography or celestial viewing. It is enhanced with picture-perfect, pinpoint star images and a near absence of color fringing. The 3" Crayford Dual Speed Focuser ensures smooth and repeatable focusing with zero image shift. A fully-extendable dew shield is integrated into the aluminum optical tube.
Of all the telescope designs available today, the apochromatic refractor is the architecture that supplies the greatest contrast and resolution. It won't provide the light gathering capacity per dollar of Dobsonians or Newtonian reflectors nor the portability per aperture of Schmidt-Cassegrains. They do provide the most enviable views, with the darkest of background skies, the sharpest widest fields and the highest contrasts that are virtually free of chromatic aberration.
