The DS160 combines power with wide angle coverage to give you the most bang for your buck.

The DS160 beam is designed to be perfectly soft and wide spread through its reflector design, and is capable of providing you the coverage and power you want and avoiding the one f/stop loss caused by adding a diffuser.

Both our DS160 and DS161 strobes are legendary for their ability to keep up in rapid firing situations—a cut above any flash on the market. A bright, concentrated LED aiming light provides more than enough light for focusing or as a night diving light. The LED turns off and on when the strobe is fired, ensuring that no bright spots will ruin your photo.

The DS160 strobe output is identical to its sister model, the DS161. The DS161 features a built-in 500 lumen video light in place of the DS160's aiming light.

Instead of a simple aiming light, the DS161 includes a super even, 500 lumen video light. The light is suitable for close-up, macro, portrait, and wide angle fill-in work or as a focus assist light. Output is adjustable in 10 brightness settings plus an SOS mode for emergency situations. Automatic shut-off when the flash fires ensures that the video light will have no undesired effects on still photos.

NiMH batteries are work horses, and a great choice for high powered rechargeable devices due to their performance and reliability at a more affordable price point than lithium ion. This high capacity battery pack provides professional quality power and speed flash after flash, well beyond the capabilities of even the best AA-cell batteries.

Shooting full power flashes? Expect a lightning fast 1.6 second recycle time and over 225 flashes on a single charge. Shooting TTL or in a fractional power setting? You'll get very close to instantaneous recycle time and up to 3X as many flashes... plenty for a day of diving! This battery recharges in half the time of its Li-Ion counterpart for quick topping off before your night dive.

Our famous quick-release toggle system attaches the battery pack with ease and confidence, making a flooded battery virtually impossible.

The included Smart Charger for NiMH accepts variable voltage in the 100-240V range and includes AC adapters for US, Europe, UK and Australia. Smart charging provides safety and helps to increase the lifetime of the pack by switching over to a trickle charge when the battery pack is fully recharged. Feedback on charging cycle is indicated by an LED on the front of the charger.

This charger is compatible with NiMH and NiCad battery packs only. Smart Chargers designed for NiMH or NiCad batteries cannot be used with Li-Ion technology.

Auto-ranging input allows the charger to work in any country whose electrical system falls within a 100V - 240V range. AC adapters for the following regions are included: USA, Europe, United Kingdom, and Australia.

The charger showcases the latest pulse charge technology; this feature grants near complete charging while also conditioning cells over time, resulting in longer battery life and more flashes per charge. Its "trickle" charge mode helps maintain a pack's charge without danger of overheating. In addition, this charger is less likely to fail when used with poorly regulated power sources.

Smart Charger is configured to charge 6-cell Lithium Ion Ikelite battery packs quickly and efficiently. The 4067.1 Smart Charger should only be used with Lithium Ion battery packs.

The newer Smart Charger for Li-Ion (2nd Gen) is safe for use with Lithium Ion (1st Gen) battery packs but will not provide charge termination feedback via the LED indicator light. The Smart Charger for Li-Ion (1st Gen) may be used with this newer battery pack but may reduce the lifetime of the battery. For easy reference, chargers and compatible battery packs are color coded to each other.

Existing NiMH and NiCad batteries are forward-compatible with new strobes. Please note that Smart Chargers designed for NiMH or Ni-Cad batteries cannot be used with Li-Ion technology.
