The Mark of Legends
Immense power. Phenomenal speed. A remarkable combination of innovation and refinement. The new EOS-1D X Mark II camera is nothing but legendary every step of the way. Building on a heritage of sophisticated innovation, the EOS-1D X Mark II is blazingly fast. Up to 14 fps* (up to 16 fps* in Live View mode) can be captured at a burst rate of up to 170 RAWs with a CFast™ card, and an improved 61-point AF system helps deliver clean, sharp images quickly, even in dim light. This remarkable speed means faster recording too: 4K video can be recorded at up to 60 fps with smooth AF and strikingly clear detail. Combined with superb low-light performance thanks to its powerful sensor and expandable ISO range, the EOS-1D X Mark II performs brilliantly, swiftly and stunningly no matter when or where the photographer is shooting. From the stadium, safari or studio to virtually everywhere in between, the EOS-1D X Mark II maintains and enhances all the hallmarks of what Canon has to offer, marking a new page in the legacy of the EOS series of cameras.
Fastest shooting EOS-1D, capable of up to 14 fps* full-resolution RAW or JPEG, and up to 16 fps* in Live View mode with new Dual DIGIC 6+ Image Processors.
Delivering outstanding performance at speeds of up to 14 fps*, and up to 16 fps* in Live View, the EOS-1D X Mark II camera is loaded with technologies that help facilitate speedy operation at every step of image capture. The EOS-1D X Mark II features a new mirror mechanism designed for highly precise operation with reduced vibration even at incredibly fast speeds. The shutter unit is rated for 400,000 frames, while the CMOS sensor has high-speed signal reading that enables speedy image capture. A fast AF/AE system, Dual DIGIC 6+ Image Processors and high-speed recording with its new CFast™ card slot helps ensure that camera operations are quick and precise.
Maximum burst rate of up to 170 RAWs in continuous shooting at up to 16 fps, and 4K movies using CFast™ cards in the new CFast 2.0™** slot.
When recording to CFast 2.0™* cards through its new CFast™ card slot, the EOS-1D X Mark II can record up to 170 full-size RAW files, and JPEGs up to full card capacity at 16 fps. 4K/60p and Full HD/120p video can also be recorded with virtually no restriction, and with exFAT format support, movie files of larger than 4GB can be recorded without the need to merge files.
Experience less noise in higher ISO images via a new 20.2 Megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, with an ISO range of 100–51200; expansion to ISO 409600.
The EOS-1D X Mark II camera features a Canon-developed 20.2 Megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor that uses gapless micro lenses for enhanced low-light performance. This results in noise reduction in dark portions of the image even at high ISO speeds, and increased sensitivity that contributes to the EOS-1D X Mark II's high-speed image capture rate, accelerating frame-to-frame performance as well as enabling 4K movies (60p/30p) and improved playback. The new sensor is also Canon's first full-frame sensor to include Dual Pixel CMOS AF for high-speed, precise AF during Live View still and movie recording.
Improved AF performance through 61-point High Density Reticular AF II system with 41 cross-type points, improved center point focusing sensitivity to -3 EV and compatibility down to f/8***.
The EOS-1D X Mark II camera features a new 61-point High Density Reticular AF II system with 41 cross-type points that expands the AF area approximately 8.6% in the top and bottom of the central AF area, and approximately 24% at the top and bottom of the peripheral frame. A wider subject tracking area improves the AF system so that challenging focus tracking in scenes with sudden changes of speed and subject position is easier than ever. The AF system's low-intensity limit has been improved to EV -3 and all 61 AF points are compatible down to f/8* for excellent low-light performance.

The Freedom of High Resolution
Marking a new standard in high-resolution digital SLR photography, the Canon EOS 5DS camera shatters the status quo with a new 50.6 Megapixel, full-frame CMOS sensor. Perfect for commercial and fine art photography, or any other application that calls for extremely high-resolution, the EOS 5DS is the ultimate combination of EOS performance and ultra-high megapixel capture. It features an advanced, 61-point High Density Reticular AF system that includes 41 cross-type AF points and EOS iTR AF for precise AF in numerous situations. An anti-flicker function helps provide consistent exposure and color during continuous shooting, while a built-in bulb timer and intervalometer expands creative opportunities without the need for an additional remote control. A refined mirror control mechanism reduces vibration and Time Release Lag setting minimizes shutter blur for sharp image capture. New features like a crop function of 1.3x and 1.6x and a Custom Quick Control screen are complemented by advanced, multi-featured Full HD Movie capture, with Time Lapse Movie, and much more. With EOS performance and 50.6 Megapixel Capture, the EOS 5DS revolutionizes high-resolution photography!
New 50.6 Megapixel Full-frame CMOS sensor
The EOS 5DS camera features Canon's newest full-frame CMOS sensor: at 50.6 Megapixels, it's the highest resolution sensor in the history of EOS. It captures 8712 x 5813 effective pixels, delivering images with an unprecedented level of realism perfect for large-scale commercial printing, fine art, significant crops and any number of other high-end applications. Thanks to this amazing sensor, engineered to work in concert with dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors, the EOS 5DS is a remarkable, high-resolution camera with impressive performance.
EOS Scene Detection System with RGB+IR Metering Sensor
The EOS 5DS camera has an amazing iSA Intelligent Subject Analysis system that employs an independent RGB light sensor with approximately 150,000-pixel resolution. This sensor enables Canon's Intelligent Tracking and Recognition system (iTR AF) that detects and tracks subjects, automatically switching the AF point to optimize tracking. With new tracking algorithms tailored to recognize faces and colors, this system serves as a brilliant foundation to the EOS 5DS's AF system.
61-point High Density Reticular AF
For fast, precise AF with sophisticated tracking performance, the EOS 5DS camera has an advanced, 61-point High Density Reticular AF system with 41 cross-type AF points. The EOS 5DS's AF system is incredibly sensitive to changes in composition, making adjustments quickly to help ensure consistent, sharp AF. A new RGB+IR AE (with approximately 150,000 dots) sensor monitors subject motion, and Canon's iTR Intelligent Tracking and Recognition system synchronizes the active AE point with the subject's motion, helping to ensure that AF precision is maintained. With focus modes dedicated to the particulars of the shooting environment, the EOS 5DS realizes a level of focus accuracy befitting its 50.6 Megapixel sensor.
Advanced Mirror control mechanism and shutter release time lag
The camera shake that occurs from the impact of an SLR's mirror can leave blurred details in the recorded image. This effect is magnified when working with a super high-resolution sensor like the one found in the EOS 5DS camera. To counter the effects of conventional, spring-driven SLR mirrors, the EOS 5DS features a newly developed Mirror Vibration Control system. The camera's mirror is not controlled by springs but instead is driven by a small motor and cams. This system suppresses the impact typical of the camera's mirror, significantly reducing impact and its effects on the image. A new Time Release Lag setting, easily accessed on the EOS 5DS's menu system offers an added protection against camera shake by setting the shutter release time intentionally longer so the camera does not begin the next exposure until after the impact of the camera's mirror has diffused.
Compatible with the new optional Wi-Fi Adapter* W-E1 accessory**, which enables Wi-Fi® capabilities including easy transfer of images to a compatible smartphone or tablet***, and remote still shooting.
The EOS 5DS camera is compatible with the new optional Wi-Fi Adapter* W-E1 accessory** for convenient Wi-Fi® capabilities. When inserted into the camera's SD card slot, the W-E1 enables you to wirelessly view and transfer images when connected to a compatible smart device with the Camera Connect mobile app*** installed, along with remote shooting for stills and the ability to remotely change camera settings. These Wi-Fi® functions can also be utilized when wirelessly connected to a computer equipped with the EOS Utility software.

Meet Canon's new addition to the EOS System, the EOS R camera. The foundation of this system is an entirely new lens mount, designed for optical excellence today and incredible optical potential for the future.
Get ready to capture a variety of subjects in many different environments. Versatility is key with the EOS R; a 30.3 Megapixel Full-frame CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 8 Image Processor deliver stellar low-light performance, even in dark situations. Focus can be attained with incredible speed and accuracy thanks to Canon's proprietary Dual Pixel CMOS AF system and a maximum of 5,655 manually selectable AF points**. This system also captures smooth 4K video that's easy to share and can be enhanced in post-production thanks to the included Canon Log. The built-in, high-precision EVF and a Vari-angle Touchscreen LCD make it easy to adapt to different shooting situations. In daylight or in the dark, in the studio or on the street, the EOS R's lightweight, intuitive and durable design means strong performance and gorgeous results.
Whether capturing landscapes or wildlife, wedding portraits or dance performances, the EOS R is an advanced and impressive imaging tool that's primed to deliver the stunning photos and videos that photographers, moviemakers and any visual storytellers need to make their stories fly. Witness a new beginning with the EOS R and be the revolution.
RF Mount Compatible with RF Lenses and EF/EF-S Lenses*.
Whether you're purchasing your first EOS camera or your fifth, the EOS R camera is designed to integrate smoothly into existing EOS systems. Engineered to work seamlessly with RF lenses, it maintains complete compatibility with EF and EF-S lenses by using one of three optional Mount Adapters. When using EF-S lenses, the EOS R even crops automatically to reflect the APS-C sized sensor the lenses are designed for.
54mm Large Diameter and Short Back Focus
The RF mount on the EOS R Body camera has a large, 54mm internal diameter that enables impressive handling and provides increased flexibility for lens design. And thanks to the camera's mirrorless design, the lens's rear element can be much closer to the image plane. This reduced back focus distance, combined with the RF mount's 54mm diameter, helps facilitate lenses of stellar optical quality and stunning performance while enabling innovative compact camera and lens designs.
20mm Flange Focal Distance with Robustness for Professional Use
All RF lenses feature a 20mm flange focal distance, which is the distance from the lens mount to the surface of the image sensor. This flange focal distance balances the benefits of short back focus with the engineering requirements necessary for mount stability. Accordingly, the RF mount's flange focal distance ensures excellent optical performance while maintaining the mount rigidity and camera durability necessary for real-world operation.
12 Pins for Quickly Communicating Large Amounts of Information
With a robust 12 pin connection between the camera and the lens, the EOS R camera and RF lenses are able to communicate at a higher speed, transmitting a larger amount of data and information for incredibly fast AF, plus enhanced image stabilization and optimization.
Variety of Mount Adapter Options for Expanded Compatibility with EF/EF-S Lenses
Mount adapters, such as the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R, deliver seamless connections between the EOS R camera and EF and EF-S lenses with all functions intact. Offering L series level weather and dust sealing, the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R is even compatible with EF extenders like the Extender EF 1.4x III to extend your camera's optical reach. With an entire arsenal of EF and EF-S lenses at your disposal, the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R and other mount adapters ensure endless creative possibilities for the EOS R camera.
Beyond enabling use of EF and EF-S lenses on the EOS R camera, the Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R and the Drop-in Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R add functions that open up a number of new possibilities for creative image capture. The Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R adds a control ring like those found on RF lenses, providing the same level of control to your EF and EF-S lenses and supporting the same setting configuration regardless of lens. The Drop-in Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R enables compatibility with EF and EF-S lenses and includes drop-in filter capability for use with circular polarizing filters or variable ND filters.
